Carolyn Sue Hess (74) made it safely home on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, and she is now with her Lord and Savior. She departed from St. Elizabeth in Williamstown, KY after complications of a stroke. She was a long-time resident of Florence, KY. Carol was the daughter of the late Roy and Othella Henderson. She leaves behind three children, Ronald (Julie) Hess, Rhonda (Joe) Smith and Jerry (Susann) Hess. She loved and was dearly loved by her grandchildren, Andrew Smith, Cassidy Hess, Meghan Hess, Abigail Smith, and Ashtyn Smith. She also leaves behind a brother, Ron Henderson (Las Vegas, NV) a sister, Virginia Kitchel (Independence), and a special cousin, Illean Lairson (Powell, TN). In recent years she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Henderson, and a sister, Charlotte Bowling. Many (great) nephews, (great) nieces, in-laws, a host of cherished friends, neighbors and church family lament her rapid departure.
Carol was formerly a member of Florence Church of God and in recent years regularly attended Community Family Church until she was no longer able to do so. She served as a Clerk for the Social Security and Veteran’s Administrations, Crew Leader for the Census and in her later career years she worked for Medical Academy and Staples Call Center. She volunteered her time with Exodus Mental Health where she did Jail Ministry and she was a faithful donor to Hoxworth Blood Center for many years.
Friends and Family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, February 6, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with the funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. (Pastor Thomas D. Bates officiating) at Don Catchen & Sons Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY. The internment will be Wednesday, February 7, 11:00 a.m. at Short Creek Baptist Church on Highway 22 West in Falmouth, KY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Outreach Ministry at Community Family Church in Independence, KY.
