Obituary of Michael Chandler
Michael Wayne Chandler (aka Chan), 66 of Covington, Ky., passed at his home on Friday, July 6th. Born in Cincinnati, Mike was raised and lived the majority of his life in Covington, Ky. where he was a graduate of Holmes High School in 1970. He was well known for his outgoing personality and love of local sports especially UK Basketball. He had a knack for growing things, loved fishing, the outdoors, children, dogs, music and old cars.
He is preceded in death by Father Bennie Chandler, Brother Gary and Sisters Patricia Jackson and Barbara Ahlers. He is survived by Mother Nancy (DeZarn), Brothers Stephen and Douglas, Sister Mary Simmons, Daughter Christina Chandler and Sons Mitchael and Michael Chandler as well as 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces /nephews and their children.
As a man who loved life, enjoyed the pleasure of spending time with family and friends, laughing and sharing stories as well as food and drink, Mike would have wanted to be remembered in that fashion rather than with tears and sadness. As such, there will be a memorial /benefit held in his honor on Saturday, July the 14th 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Legends Bar and Grill / Bock’s Billiards 3530 DeCoursey Ave. Covington, Kentucky 41015.
