Alan Workman

Obituary of Alan Michael Workman

Alan-Michael Workman of Louisville, Kentucky—formerly Florence, Kentucky, passed away Thursday morning, September 24th, 2020. He was born July 4th, 1992, the eldest son of Scott Workman and Amy (nee Cummings) Canary. He attended Grant County schools and graduated from Grant County High School in 2010, where he was a member of the football team and maintained many of the friendships he developed from that time. Alan had a passion for helping others and a caring disposition, which led him to work professionally as an LPN and traveling nurse. Alan’s passion for people was only multiplied by his friends (he didn’t know a stranger) and his family. Alan served as a bright beacon in so many lives and sparked joy upon first meeting and through conversation. He believed in equality for everyone and had a brilliant mind that was constantly sharpened as a voracious reader. A loving father, many would agree that Alan was at his best when he was with his son. Naturally equipped with charisma and charm, as well as a contagious smile, he will forever be in the hearts of many whose lives were enhanced by knowing him. Alan is survived by his partner, Taylor Jacobs, and their son, Leon-Michael Workman; his mother, Amy (Michael) Canary; his father, Scott (Laura) Workman; his sisters, Lauran Workman and Hannah Lillard; his brothers, Cody Workman, Seth Lillard, Andrew Canary and Jackson Canary; and his grandparents, Dennis (Tonya) Cummings, Terrie Cummings and Frank Workman. A memorial service will be held on September 29th, 2020 from 6-8 at Don Catchen & Son Funeral home at 3525 Dixie Hwy, Elsmere, KY 41018
