Obituary of Harold R Quinn

Harold Rodney Quinn of Edgewood, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 10 at 80 years of age after a brief and unexpected illness. Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Aloma (Harris) Quinn, brothers Jay (Maxine) Quinn and Bob (Ruth) Quinn and sister Loretta Joy Blundell. He was a devoted father to Lisa Keenan, Kristin Quinn, and Rodney (Amy) Quinn, and beloved grandfather to Krissie, Liam and Ewan. He is further survived by sister Betty (Quinn) Deweese, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harry proudly served his country in the U. S. Coast Guard as a Hospital Corpsman and had a sailor’s heart and love of the ocean, travel, and new experiences his entire life. He attended Ohio State University where he studied pre-med, and graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associate Degree in marketing. He retired from Armstrong World Industries in 2008 and spent his retirement traveling and spending time with family. Harry will be fondly remembered by his family as a loving father and grandfather, fan of family road trips, Disney World, lighthouses and beach visits, and was at all times a dedicated and passionate family man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but especially so by his family. Per his wishes, no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Harry Quinn to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause near and dear to Harry’s heart, at www.stjude.org/donate. The family is especially grateful to the staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for their care of Harry during his last days and helped him to pass peacefully and with dignity.
