Obituary of Cynthia Lee Marks

Cynthia Lee Marks Cynthia Lee Marks passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the age of 63 after a brief illness claimed her life too early. She is survived by her father John Marks, her brothers Steve and Leslie Marks, and her sisters Susan Ramey, Angela Neal, Stephanie Lynn Studer, and Josie Kirby and her beloved childhood sweetheart Paul Niehaus. She was preceded in death by her mother Wanetta Marks who died in a medical emergency when Cindy was only two years of age. Cindy was an active member of Erlanger Baptist Church as a young girl, and graduated from Lloyd High School in Erlanger in 1975 together with her brother Steve. Cindy left Kentucky shortly after graduation and moved to So. California where she learned to live in the fun and the sun. She settled down after a bit and went on to join the banking business where she learned loan processing. She then combined her ability to work with both numbers and people to become an accomplished loan officer. Subsequently she earned her real estate license and sold property in San Diego for a time. Realizing the opportunity of having a banking and real estate background, she found success in real estate investing in California as well.At the time of death, Cindy was retired but working on a home internet business too. After a time she realized the value of family and decided to return to her home in Florence in 2017 with her dog, Joe Cocker. That’s when fate intervened and she reconnected with her high-school sweetheart Paul Niehaus. After a forty-year separation, they re-ignited their former romance and a bond formed between them that will last forever. Together Cindy and Paul began a life together and their family grew to include three new cocker spaniels, Jewel, and two young puppies, Teddy and Coco. She will be sorely missed by all. Family, friends and others who lives Cindy touched are invited to the Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, 3525 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger Ky, from 2p.m.-4p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 for a Celebration of Life event to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat.
