Obituary of Ernest F. Ohlhauser
In Loving Memory of Ernest Fredrick Ohlhauser(1939-2022) Ernest (Ernie) Ohlhauser, age 82, of Covington, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022. He was born August 20, 1939 to Ernest Ohlhauser and Holly Kirchner. Ernie was a hard worker, a civil engineer by trade for several companies including AM Kenny, LSI Industries, Parsons and The Clow company. He was responsible for the design of the Western and Southern sign in Cincinnati, Ohio and the Dixie Chili sign in Erlanger, Ky. After retirement, Ernie began working a part time job at Kroger in Fort Mitchell, where he was an outstanding employee and friend to many. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Carol (Meyer) Ohlhauser. Ernie showed his love for his wife daily by chauffeuring her to all her favorite stores while waiting for hours in the mall as she shopped. He was a loving father to his only daughter, Michlle (Ohlhauser) Singer and her husband, Jim. He enjoyed family gatherings with them and giving scenic tours of his childhood neighborhood while driving them to the events along the way. Ernie was a proud and loving grandfather to his two grandchildren, Brett and Danielle Singer. His grandchildren knew all they had to do was ask and papa would provide. +Ernie showed a selfless love for them. He never once missed his grandson's baseball games from kindergarten on and once spent hours building a life size dollhouse for his granddaughter’s American Girl dolls. He was a proud Army veteran who loved and served his country with pride. On the weekends and evenings, he enjoyed watching his favorite teams the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals play. His hobbies included: collecting old coins, solving puzzles, and putting together model cars. Ernie is survived by his wife Carol Ohlhauser, daughter Michelle (Ohlhauser) Singer, son in-law Jim Singer, grandchildren Brett and Danielle Singer, brothers Gordon Ohlhauser, Denny Ohlhauser, and Kenny Ohlhauser. A memorial service will be held at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery North Williamstown on March 18, 2022 at 11:00a.m.
