Genevieve (Gen) Vivian O’Hara, 93, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. She was born in Covington to George and Dora (Brunegraff) Placke on February 6, 1929, the oldest of six children. A native of Northern Kentucky, and later a Florida transplant, Gen lived an active and full life, befriending all around her during her 93 years on this earth. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She actively engaged everyone she met, quick to offer help or advice, and was always ready for a friendly chat or game of cards. Gen leaves behind her son, Thomas O’Hara (Linda) of Summerfield, Florida; brothers, George Placke of Alexandria and Richard Placke of Erlanger; sisters, Mary and Barbara Jones of Florence; 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. O’Hara, Jr.; her son, William J. O’Hara III, and brother James Placke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday March 4, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Erlanger. Visitation will be on Thursday March 3, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Marion County, P.O. Box 4860, Ocala Florida, 34478-4860.
