Monte L. Snyder Born November 28, 1955 in Lafayette, Indiana to the Late Russel E. & Mary L. Snyder Monte Lowell Snyder (age 66) passed away unexpectedly Saturday July 23rd in Erlanger, Kentucky. He was doing what he Loved…competing in a Professional Putt-Putt golf tournament with his great Putt-Putt friends he often called his second family. Monte graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1974 and then Purdue University in 1978 with a teaching degree in Physical Education, History and Drivers Training. As a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Monte was very proud of his time as owner and operator of the two Putt-Putt courses formerly in Lafayette and West Lafayette. He went on to manage a course in Indianapolis and most recently Richmond, Indiana. Monte and his twin brother Mark, also enjoyed careers in electronics. Monte owned and operated “the Electro-Lab Repair Shop” and brother Mark owns and operates “Custom Installation”. Monte eventually sold the electronic repair shop and purchased Milestone Driving School where he and his staff taught high school students how to drive. After several years Monte decided to close the driving school so he could specialize in private driving lessons teaching international students attending Purdue how to drive. Monte taught students from more that 75 different countries during his lifetime. Because of his patience and his special teaching technique, he was much loved by his students. In his spare time Monte enjoyed playing cards with his many poker friends in local Texas hold-em tournaments. He also enjoyed a few trips to Vegas and occasional trips to other casinos to play video poker. Monte loved music and also found great pleasure in spending time with his twin brother Mark and his very special friends Mary Morris, Ryan McIntyre and Angelo Korogianos, attending many concerts, movies and other adventures together. Monte was especially fond of animals, having had several dogs and cats during his lifetime. Being a Purdue graduate, Monte lived for Purdue basketball season. He was their #1 fan.
