Obituary of Chad Alan Eichelberger
Please share a memory of Chad to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Chad Alan Eichelberger, 48, passed away peacefully at home in Bellevue, Kentucky, just across the river from downtown Cincinnati, on October 4, 2022. Chad was born in Galion, Ohio, on April 15, 1974, but sometimes he would tell you it was 1979. He grew up in Ontario, OH, and went to Ontario High School. Chad studied at the University of Cincinnati for undergraduate and Xavier University for graduate school. In addition to Ohio and Kentucky, he also lived in Ireland, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, D.C., and Virginia. Chad was a longtime, award-winning healthcare administrator, having held multiple executive-level positions at various hospitals. He was in management positions since the age of 22 and was known for his fairness, honesty, and compassion with colleagues. He was an avid Ohio State fan and a long-suffering but loyal Bengals fan. He enjoyed traveling, trying new restaurants, socializing with friends, collecting Zippo lighters, and spending time with his dog and two cats. His humor, wit, and sharp intellect will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He is predeceased by his parents Max and Louise “Joanie” (née Solinger) Eichelberger. He is survived by his husband Grant Hogan of Bellevue, KY; his brother Eric (and Lorene) Eichelberger of Louisville, OH; best friend Eydie Bookman of Erlanger, KY; parents-in-law Michael and Barbara Hogan of Southampton, MA; sister-in-law Abbie (and Kevin) Williamson of Holyoke, MA; brother-in-law Ben (and Karen) Hogan of Southampton, MA; nieces Megan and Rylee Eichelberger and Penelope Williamson; nephews Matthew Eichelberger and Killian and Rhys Hogan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. A celebration of life will be held in November to honor Chad’s memory. More information will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his honor to Cincinnati PFLAG at https://www.pflagcincinnati.org/. (You can note that it is in honor of Chad Eichelberger in the comments section of the donation tab.)
